Black History Month Children’s Books

The other day I was going through Olivia’s books and I realized that a majority of her books were fiction and based on Disney characters, fairies, unicorns, and the like. Now that she is getting older I think it’s time to incorporate more nonfiction books into her growing library.

With February being Black History Month, I thought it would be perfect to dive right in and get some new books. In addition to books focusing on prominent Black figures, I picked out some books with Black main characters and books featuring diverse characters.

Teething

For the past few weeks, Olivia had been acting a little strange. We were experiencing sleep issues, irritability, restlessness, and separation anxiety. I kept thinking this was all being caused by the big move to Texas and that within a few weeks she should be adjusted to her new environment. Well, we have been in Texas almost a month and still no progress!

So out of curiosity I decided to check inside her mouth just to see if anything was happening in there and lo and behold two little pearly whites were trying to make an appearance! All the issues we were experiencing made sense.  So for any of you mamas currently experiencing this (I wish you luck!) or wondering what its like this post is definitely for you.
